Dangote Cement Plc (DCP) have launched an internship scheme in collaboration with Yaba College of Technology, Lagos and Kano Polytechnic, Kano. The Internship Scheme is a one-year fully-funded internship program for Nigerian tertiary institution students.
According to the Dangote Cement Lagos Regional Sales Director, Mr Tunde Mabogunje :
“We are kicking off this phase of the scheme in Lagos and Kano States. A total of 20 students are involved with 10 students selected from each of the two states. In selecting the interns, we wrote to the authorities of Yaba College of Technology and Kano Polytechnic requesting for the list of the best performing students in Building Studies.”
The Dangote Cement Plc (DCP) Students Industrial Internship Scheme
The scheme is intended to train 10 select best-performing students from Civil Engineering and Building Studies with a view to training them in the right application of all the cement products following the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) prescriptions.
The interns are expected to be deployed to various building project sites with supervision from DCP technical officers.
The scheme is part of Dangote Cement’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and offers a unique opportunity for engineering students to apply the knowledge they’ve gained in classrooms and laboratories to real-world situations. By combining their academic learning with practical, on-field training, students will emerge as well-rounded engineers.
